We booked a Garden Wing Garden View room and one of the things I was most looking forward to was the open air balcony, which did not disappoint. We ended up with a gorgeous view of Bay Lake and every night we got to see the Electrical Water Pageant from our room.
The two queen beds in our room were both insanely comfortable. So far I have to say these are the best we've had on property!
Another big perk is just the size of the room. If you've ever stayed at a Value Resort at Walt Disney World, you know that sometimes the size can be a little claustrophobic. It was really nice to have so much more room to move about.
Isn't that a great view? While there isn't a balcony to walk out onto on the 2nd and 3rd floor, it was so nice to slide the door open and let the cool breeze blow in. The ground floor rooms have a little walkout patio with chairs.
While we didn't utilize it, there is also a sleeper sofa which easily folds out and back up!
We were really happy to have lots of USB ports by the bed! I'm glad that Disney has been adding this in with their refurbs.
There is a huge desk that features another, smaller, pull out table underneath. This table has wheels and was great to move over to the sofa so our daughter had somewhere to eat while we were in the room.
While this room doesn't have a full dresser like other resorts, it does have 2 closets. One closet features a few pull out drawers and the safe and the other has full space for hanging. In the middle is a coffee bar setup and below that the fridge.
Now let's head into my favorite part of the room...the bathroom!
I can't rave about it enough. Bright, chic, the marble tile is gorgeous, the sinks are huge, it's just a really great bathroom. There isn't a ton of counter space, but there's a lot of space below the counter.
There is a seperate little room with the toilet and a laundry hamper for your wet towels.
The tub is a nice sized soaking tub and came stocked with my favorite H20 minis, which I happily threw directly into my suitcase to bring home for when the "I miss Disney" blues kick in!
Our room was really close to the nice, white sand beach and pool area.
I didn't get great pictures at the pool because I always feel weird taking pictures when there's so many children around, but the slide is awesome. My three year old could not get enough!
From the Contempo Cafe to Chef Mickey's to room service, all the food we had was wonderful. Being in walking distance to Magic Kingdom is such a great perk. We took the walking trail just about everyday. It was also so great to hop on the monorail to head towards Epcot. Overall Disney's Contemporary Resort did not disappoint and we will definitely be back!
LOVE your review, can't wait until we make memories there with Isabelle. You are truly amazing to work with, Ashley!
