'Ohana Dinner at Disney's Polynesian Resort

 

One of my favorite meals at Disney will always be 'Ohana dinner! The best is that dinner is all-you-care-to-enjoy. You can ask for more of anything that you enjoy. The meal includes:

Mixed green salad with citrus vinaigrette

Signature 'Ohana bread with honey butter

Honey-coriander chicken wings

Pork dumplings tossed in garlic-chili sauce

'Ohana skillet dinner; wood-fire grilled teriyaki beef, spicu peel-n-eat shrimp, grilled chicken with polynesian-inspired chimichurri sauce, 'Ohana noodles, and roasted brocconili

One of the things I have most look forward to was the return of 'Ohana to Walt Disney World! Their breakfast and dinner have always been the best. I'm just convinced you can't get a bad meal at Disney's Polynesian Resort.

The dinner at 'Ohana has always been one of my favorites, but this breakfast exceeded my expectations!

The Lapu Lapu at the Tambu Lounge

 

The Tambu Lounge at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is one of my favorite lounges at Disney World. It's home to some of very fun and unique tropical drinks like the Backscratcher, Tropical Macaw, and the Island Sunset, but my personal favorite is the Lapu Lapu (and maybe it's because it's served IN A PINEAPPLE!)

The drink itself is a blend of Myer's Original Dark Rum, tropical fruit juices, and it's topped with MORE RUM. This drink just makes you feel like you should be on a tropical island, and it's a good thing the Polynesian Resort has all the tropical vibes you might need.

Dole Whip at Disney World

 

There is nothing quite as refreshing as a nice Dole Whip on a hot day at Disney. I'm excited to share with you some awesome options around Walt Disney World!

Pineapple Lanai at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort

 

The Pineapple Lanai is a must when I'm at Disney! They offer your traditional dole whip but they also do specialty flavors. We had just missed the Key Lime pie flavor, which still makes me sad, but I decided to do a mix of their regular lime and the vanilla. That came out so good and I highly recommend it.

If you need a midday break while you're at Magic Kingdom, or just a down day activity, I always recommend hopping on the monorail at Magic Kingdom and taking a spin around the monorail resorts. The Contemporary Resort has great shopping! Currently the monorail is not stopping at the Polynesian resort due to construction, but you can get off at the TTC and walk to the Polynesian. You can walk back to the TTC and hop a monorail over to the Grand Floridian where you can grab some bath bombs at Basin. Mobile order an iced coffee from Gasparilla Island Grill and it will be ready when you're done shopping!

Reimagined Rooms at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort

We stayed at Disney's Polynesian Villas back in September and the first thing I said was, "these rooms need an overhaul." I am so excited to see that not only are they getting some much needed refurbishments, but it's one of the most beautiful refurbishments we've seen so far!

Deluxe Studio at Disney's Polynesian Villas and Bungalows

Staying at the Polynesian has been on my bucket list for years now, so this trip was definitely one I had been looking forward to. The resort is set right on the Seven Seas Lagoon and you truly feel like you have landed in a tropical paradise! It's just an iconic location and it's amazing to think that it was one of two of the first on-site hotels on property. Another great thing about the Polynesian is the amount of transportation. You can take the monorail (monorail access will not be available starting October 2020), a ferry boat, bus, or you can even walk over to the TTC. The resort is about to undergo a huge overhaul and I'll share some information about that below!

Kona Cafe at Disney's Polynesian Resort

The Polynesian Village Resort is home to some of my favorite food at Walt Disney World; great drinks and snacks at the Tambu Lounge and of course 'Ohana; endless shrimp and dumplings and the bread pudding...the amazing bread pudding! There's also Kona Cafe, which I had previously only done breakfast at, but we decided to grab a last minute dinner reservation and it was such a great decision.

Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace at Disney's Polynesian Village

We were looking forward to trying Trader Sam's but the wait was insane and we already had plans at Magic Kingdom that we couldn't risk missing, so we decided to just grab a small drink and some food from the Tiki Terrace by the pool.

There's something about Disney's Polynesian Village Resort that just makes me very happy. Whether it's how amazing the lobby always manages to smell or the fond memories of delicious food, just thinking about it brings a smile to my face! Or maybe it's because the Tikiman, Maui, is just so stinking cute ;)
