I just got back from a quick trip to Universal Orlando and had the opportunity to stay at Universal's Cabana Bay Resort. I absolutely loved this resort! The retro style was so cute. The quick service dining area looks like a drive-in, there's a bowling alley, a lazy river, great quick service restaurant, and a Starbucks! This is such a great resort for families. Lots to do at the resort, free and quick transportation to the parks, and early park admission to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
The standard rooms are definitely tiny, but they can accommodate up to 4 adults. The family suites are definitely the option to go with if you want a little more room and privacy, but this was perfect for two adults! I love the large windows and how much light these rooms get. Very bright and airy!
The queen beds are very comfy and feature reading lights built in on both sides. There's a bedside table with a retro alarm clock too!
On the opposite wall there's a dresser which holds the television and the coffee bar. The refrigerator can be found in the dresser too. It's an actual refrigerator and not one of those beverage coolers, so that's a plus in my book!
There's also a small table and chairs in the room so you can bring your food back to the room and enjoy the view while you eat (if you've got a view of the pool or volcano bay, we had a view of the parking lot lol.)
There's a decent sized closet in the room with a safe too.
The vanity area is in the main room but the toilet and shower do have a seperate door. It's kind of a tight squeeze for two to get ready in the morning, so if you're traveling with a lot of girls, I'd definitely recommend looking at the family suites for more room!
