Universal Orlando Favorite Eats

Don't tell Mickey Mouse, but I actually think that Universal can hang with, if not beat, Disney food wise! And I don't just mean because they have Butterbeer and it's good hot or cold.

Mythos has a huge reputation to live up to as it's dubbed the best theme park restaurant...and it did not disappoint. While the theming and decor may be a little dated, the food impressed. The Pad Thai (which is available both Vegan and Gluten Free) was delicious. Rice noodles, mixed vegetables, chicken and shrimp all tossed in a sweet and sour peanut sauce. But the real show stopper was the Chocolate Banana Gooey Cake. A warm flourless chocolate cake drizzled with caramel sauce and topped with peanut butter ice cream and candied bacon!

This is not one that I was really expecting to like at all, let alone love, but the Green Eggs and Ham Tots from Green Eggs and Ham Cafe were delicious. And for $9.99 the portion size is very big!

The Three Broomsticks is easily my favorite quick service dining location at any theme park. The beef pasties are delicious and there's a huge side salad that comes with it. The desserts were all very good, but the Butterbeer Potted Cream is where it's at! (The Pumpkin Juice tasted like a Fall candle, so I would skip that one next time.)

Antojitos Authentic Mexican Food was a blast! The live entertainment was a great touch and the food was very good. I'm boring and just went with your very basic chicken quesadillas.

While the food didn't wow me quite like the Three Broomsticks, The Leaky Cauldron is a must. The chicken sandwich was good for a theme park chicken sandwich too. The Chocolate Potted Cream is not on the same level as the Butterbeer Potted Cream. Unless you enjoy the taste of the sketchy Valentine's Day Chocolates (you know the ones that taste like wax) I would skip that one.

Toothsome Chocolate Emporium is amazing in every way. There was literally nothing that we had that wasn't delicious, but this Chicken Bourguignon was incredible. A boneless chicken breast, red wine, demi-glace, pearl onions, quartered mushrooms, bacon, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, and asparagus...what's not to love?

Did you really go to City Walk if you didn't atleast go sit in the chair outside of VooDoo Doughnut? Seriously, go take a picture and then get you some donuts. They are so good!

I typically skip resort quick service options, but we were hungry and it was there so we opted to try the Cuban Sandwich at Cabana Bay Beach Resort with some dessert options and I was so impressed. The Cuban was very good, simple, the homemade chips were fine...I just prefer a little more seasoning on chips in general, and the Passionfruit Cheesecake was super light and yummy. (The S'Mores Tart was deceitful. It looked so good and was so bad!)
