Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter

Not only is Port Orleans French Quarter easily the most romantic of Disney's moderate resorts, but it feels like home for us! Set along the man-made Sassagoula River, this French Quarter-themed resort has something for everyone. Quiet strolls down one of the cobblestone walks, watery fun at Doubloon Lagoon, refreshing cocktails at Scat Cat's Club, or a horse drawn carriage ride - where you can enjoy the sweet smell of magnolia blossoms.

In the main building, Port Orleans Square, you will find the registration lobby, containing the front desk and lobby concierge facilities, as well as Jackson Square Gifts and Desires. You will also find Sassagoula Floatworks and Scat Cat's Club across the way (just let your nose be your guide!)

At Sassagoula Floatworks you can enjoy delectables such as French Quarter Beignets or Miniature King Cakes. Some of our favorites include the Smokehouse Barbecue Cheeseburger and Shrimp Po' Boy dressed with lettuce, tomato, and remoulade sauce.

At Scat Cat's Club you can enjoy a Southern Hurricane or an authentic Sazerac cocktail with an appetizer of Bayou Buffalo Wings or Mardi Gras Fritters! (Or a Bourbon Trio! The Knob Creek Single Barrel Reserve, Exclusive to Disney, is DIVINE!) For a full table service experience take a short stroll along the Sassagoula River to the Riverside resort, where you can experience cajun cuisine at Boatwright's Dining Hall.

After you've satisfied your appetite, you can dive into Mardi Gras at Doubloon Lagoon! There is a also a new Aquatic Play Area at Port Orleans French Quarter. A short distance from the main pool you will find the jacuzzi hot tub and a welcoming pool bar called Mardi Grogs.

We enjoyed a corner room, King Room, with an amazing view overlooking the Sassagoula River! The rooms at Port Orleans French Quarter feature Mardi Gras-purple coverlets, and tasteful southern influenced artwork. Coming off a trip where we stayed at All Star Movies, we definitely enjoyed having a bit more space in the bathroom and the curtain that separates the vanity from the sleeping area. That curtain came in handy as I usually wake earlier than my husband and I wasn't waking him up to get ready.

This resort is both themed beautifully and peaceful! Taking a stroll around the resort you can find movies under the stars, campfire amores, ferry boats, and some of the most beautiful scenery.
