We have impatiently waited all summer to go back to Flory Farm! My daughter choose this as her "back to school trip" over the beach and Disney World. Yes, Disney World! It's such a beautiful place.
My daughter was so excited to see the welcome sign welcoming her back! She has dubbed this 'the vacation home' and anyone who meets her is likely told the stories about 'the vacation home' and how it's the best and the place to go to have the most fun!
When you walk in you are instantly welcomed into a "home away from home" atmosphere. Beautiful furnishings, photos from around the farm, and lovely decorative touches.
The main entry also has a small dining table, with four chairs. And there's a little shelf with some board games. My daughter was so excited to see Monopoly among the selections!
There is a large, open living area with a television (this is the only television.)
The main living area also features plenty of seating and there's a large bench seat which we seem to always use to set out out daily necessities like towels, sunscreen, and pool accessories!
The kitchen is small but has everything you need from pots and pans to dishes. Donna provides local shopping information if you'd like to get groceries, as well as dining establishments in the area. They provide you with coffee and the fixings like cream and sugar too. There's also a laundry room with a washer and dryer right off the kitchen. Laundry pods are provided too!
I love that a waffle maker is provided with pre-portioned mix (each container makes 2 big waffles.)
The master bedroom is right off the kitchen and is very spacious!
The master bedroom also features it's own bathroom, with a nice sized soaking tub.
Upstairs you'll find 2 more bedrooms with twin beds and a second bathroom.
The second bathroom is a another full-size bathroom with a tub / shower combo.
My daughter loves the "cow room."
and she calls this the "tractor granddaddy" room!
The property has 2 lakes for catch and release fishing. We caught a few small bass this time!
But my daughter will tell you that the best part about 'the vacation home' is the pool. It's true, the pool is wonderful! There's lots of seating with umbrellas, pool floats and toys are provided, and there's even a barbecue pit. We do hot dogs and burgers and re-heat those during our stay for dinner each night!
If you're looking for a nice getaway in Louisiana, I can't recommend the Flory Farm property enough!
