Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kidani Village

Oh Kidani Village...what a beautiful, beautiful place you are! There's just something so serene about the African tribal architecture and the panoramic views of the Savannas. The resort itself is very relaxed.

We stayed in a one of the studios which feature a queen-size bed and a double sleeper sofa. (3rd Floor, Rafiki.) We were disappointed with the bed in our room. We are pretty easy going, but a week in this bed and we actually found ourselves excited to be going home (which doesn't often happen when we are at the Happiest Place on Earth.) I do believe we got the room with the mattress that was original to the resort. To give you an idea, the sleeper sofa mattress was more comfortable.

The sleeper sofa isn't as uncomfortable as expected, but it really was a bit of work to put it back up. The beautiful wooden table is actually two tables, which made moving them around the room a lot easier!

The other cons of our room were that we had constant trouble with our thermostat. It would turn off, it would just not work at times, it just wasn't our friend. The other downfall was that when we checked-in we were asked if we'd like to wait for a room with a pool view. The Cast Member was so sweet and told us the view was nice, so we accepted. The downfall was that the pool area gets a little rowdy and our neighbors were maybe rowdier than the pool lol.
The bathroom was a very nice size. The only down side is that the door opens into the bathroom so my husband hit me with the door quite a few times (so be vigilant.) The counter space in the bathroom is terrific and there's storage areas under the sink.
A big plus is that the toilet area has it's own door separating it from the sink and bathtub/shower. This room is actually very spacious and my husband used it to get dressed most mornings while I took up the counter getting ready.
The kitchenette is really nice to have in the studio! It's located right across from the bathroom door, in as you enter the studio. We don't usually bring leftovers back to our room as we don't usually eat them cold and by the time we've walked to the food court to heat something up, we would have probably spotted something else to eat. Having the microwave in our room was nice and allowed us to eat a few leftovers. (It would also be a huge plus if you like to bring your own food.) The extra sink was nice too!
The living space is comfortable and we enjoyed having the table in our room for those leftovers we could bring back! When we checked into our room there was a Wildlife Field Guide to help us identify different animals we would see throughout our stay.

We didn't have the best stay in our room at Kidani Village, but I have to say that the resort itself made up for it. The Savannas are just beautiful and I found myself stopping every morning to take them in. Next time we will definitely go with the Savanna View (and definitely not accept the room upgrade with the pool view lol.)
